Bsquare Extends Test Automation Product Line With TestQuest Pro 8.0
The new release supports BlackBerry(R), Android, and BREW devices, in addition to Windows Mobile, Windows(R) CE, Symbian and feature phones via Bsquare's Mobile Test Connectivity SDK and the UTS interface. With this expanded breadth of connectivity, TestQuest Pro provides the largest range of automated testing platforms for embedded and mobile devices.
"The evolution of mobile and embedded device requirements is fueling an unrelenting growth in software code bases," says Chris Rommel, Analyst in VDC Research's Embedded Software and Tools Practice. "These increasingly complex devices will continue to strain the efficiency and effectiveness of traditional manual testing, driving more engineering teams to consider automated testing solutions as a means to maintain quality and time to market."
TestQuest Pro 8.0 extends the Bsquare family of test automation products, adding to the TestQuest CountDown line of products. While the CountDown test platform simplifies test automation with a graphical development environment and a distributed execution model to support globally diverse teams, TestQuest Pro 8.0 offers more advanced users the flexibility and extensibility they need through its powerful programming interfaces thus providing the ability to test any embedded or mobile device.
"We continue to build upon our test automation expertise with the launch of TestQuest Pro 8.0, providing the best mobile test platforms available in the market today," says Raj Khera, Bsquare's vice president of products. "Now mobile and embedded companies can choose from two of the best test platforms to develop powerful, maintainable, and scalable automation solutions, to minimize their costs and deliver high quality products faster."
TestQuest Pro 8.0 also includes enhanced TestVerb Technology(TM) (TVT) and optimized intelligent text recognition (OCR). TVT is a deployment architecture which greatly simplifies script creation and reduces automation maintenance making it easier to reuse test scripts.
